Taeyeon was embarrassed by her outburst. She saw Tiffany chuckling while taking orders from other customers. She hoped that the chuckle wasn’t because of her silliness. She has become so pretty. Well, she was never ugly in the first place. It’s just that… She kept staring.
“Number 93!”
Jessica kicked Taeyeon’s foot. “You’re up, Taeng.”
Taeyeon jerked, rushing to the pick-up counter to get her tea from Kyungsoo. She thanked him then turned on her heels, leaving the small shop in a flash.
“Yo, Taengoo!”
Jessica and Sooyoung caught up with Taeyeon who was walking away speedily.
“Yah!” Jessica was the last to catch up. She lightly hit Taeyeon’s arm. “Why did you have to run? I don’t like running!”
Taeyeon sipped her drink quietly.
“What happened back there?” Sooyoung asked. “You blushed then ran out like you’ve just seen your crazy ex.”
“Worse. I know that girl.” Taeyeon sighed.
“What girl? The owner?”
Taeyeon looked at Sooyoung incredulously. “She’s the owner?!”
Sooyoung nodded. “Pretty isn’t she? Very friendly too. Always smiling. I’ve seen her there a few times. You know her?”
“Yeah… we went to high school together.”
“You had a crush on her?” Jessica asked.
They arrived at the car and got inside.
“No, I didn’t,” Taeyeon answered flatly.
“Then why did you behave that way? Shouldn’t you be greeting her and reminisce about good ol’ high school days instead?” Jessica asked again.
Taeyeon took a deep breath. “We weren’t exactly friends back then.”
“Please just start explaining or I’ll call Soonkyu and ask. She’ll spill everything faster than you can say ‘old crush’,” threatened Sooyoung.
“She’s not an old crush!” Taeyeon had started to blush again.
“Then what happened back there?!”
“Sigh… We were in the same class throughout the first year of high school. She was a new student, transferred from the States, and her Korean was pretty bad. Plus she was tanned and a bit… chubby.” Taeyeon winced.
“You bullied her, didn’t you?” Jessica asked in a flat tone.
“I didn’t! I just… teased… maybe?” Taeyeon put the straw in her mouth and just sipped her drink quietly.
“You bullied her,” Sooyoung concluded. “Did you make her cry?”
“No!”
Sooyoung looked at her friend from the rearview mirror.
Taeyeon sighed. “Maybe once.”

MY POV:
Tit for tat = an equivalent given in return or retaliation; blow for blow.
I really though tit for tat is just a baby talk, so I googled. Tiffany wants revenge for Taeyeon's childish teasing way back in high school. This story is cute and funny :) Donkatsu FTW!
